Alaa Melek

Alaa Melek is a PhD student in Biomedical Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin. Her research focuses on developing trustworthy AI for healthcare, with an emphasis on medical imaging, multimodal data integration, and interpretability. She is interested in building AI systems that are both clinically useful and responsibly deployed. In the Cava Lab, she is working on explainable AI approaches for echocardiography to help make deep learning models more transparent and clinically interpretable.
